About Dubois, Wyoming

Set in the upper Wind River valley in central Wyoming, the town is framed by Butch Cassidy's haunting Dubois Badlands to the east, the stark, stunning Absaroka Range to the north, and the majestic Wind River Range to the south.

Main street still has wooden boardwalks and the buildings have an Old West flavor. Log buildings, saloons, quaint shops, and even tipis can be seen.

Dubois is located 50 miles from Grand Teton National Park and 80 miles from the south entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Visitors wishing to avoid the traffic and crowds of Jackson Hole find Dubois makes an excellent homebase for park visits. Hikers and backpackers from around the world base out of Dubois for treks into the remote Wind River Mountains.
